Opekiska Ridge Farms is a 240-acre breeding facility in north-central West Virginia for AraAppaloosas, Foundation Appaloosas and Black Arabians. We specialize in breeding for disposition, type and athletic ability. Two wonderful stallions make their homes here in Mountaineer country - the outstanding Appaloosa Hydaway's Sun Eagle, and Hu-Majestc Prince, a young purebred black Arabian.
Tough Horses Come From The Mountains of West Virginia
Our horses are primarily raised for showing, trail riding (both competitive and endurance), and all-around family horses. All horses are registered either in the Appaloosa Horse Club, the Arabian Horse Registry, the International Arabian Horse Association (half-Arabian), and/or the AraAppaloosa and Foundation Breeders' International registry.

What Is An AraAppaloosa?
An AraAppaloosa is an Appaloosa of finer breeding and elegance. Crossed with Arabian blood, Appaloosas with Foundation lines (which in turn is rich with Arabian bloodlines), AraAppaloosa breeders are in essense trying to keep alive the true type of the Appaloosa, a refined, elegant, athletic and yes, a colorful horse. With the careful blending of bloodlines, a most amazing Appaloosa can be produced. Opekiska Ridge Farm has spent the last twenty years breeding, raising and riding these magnificent horses.
